it has been a while! i have been busy teaching and finally had the time to start my corduroy cards again. they don’t take that long, but it is a process trying to figure out which one to do next and getting the pieces of the fabric cut. this one is a doodling crayon.

of course i just got really busy with work and haven’t been able to make a corduroy card in a few weeks. i plan to work on one tonight, so look out for it soon.
here is the crab. i meant to make it when i was in florida over the weekend, but was so exhausted that i just couldn’t get it together.
i have to say that this was the hardest one yet. i think because there were so many small pieces of fabric to work with. i am trying to sew more…
tomorrow at this time, i will hopefully be on a plane to florida to visit my mom and grandma. many things are planned including corduroy crab and coral.

here is the first corduroy card. the day i wanted to create the canoe, it felt like a summer day, even though it was hailing days before. it reminds me of a summer ride down the river.
i created a list of possible card ideas… all starting with the letter “c”:

i decided that i needed a project. several years ago, i created cards that were a collage of corduroy for a friends project. the pieces were sewn and glued together to create a series of corduroy animals. since i enjoyed working on the cards, i thought this would be the creative outlet that i was looking for.
